These facilities range from pedestrian and bike paths to City streets and highway interchanges. In addition, we provide services during construction that range from consultation services to complete project management of the construction. Wilsey Ham is experienced and familiar with the various rules and regulations regarding financing for these types of projects, design criteria and construction requirements.

Wilsey Ham provides transportation engineering services for various types of clients. These include private developers for design of new streets, rehabilitation of existing streets for Cities and Counties, and highway ramps and over crossings on state highways for State and Federal Agencies. Wilsey Ham is familiar with and understands the design requirements in the state manuals (Caltrans) as well as individual requirements for many cities and counties, which are necessary for production of the design documents.

Frequently, when designing these projects, facilities other than the road design itself are involved. These include drainage systems, sidewalks, transit facilities, landscaping and bicycle facilities. Traffic calming facilities such as speed humps, curvature, restriction, and circles are becoming increasingly more popular traffic slowing elements of many local roads.

Typical contract scopes of work include producing the plans and specifications to construct the project and an estimate of the probable construction cost of the project in order that the project budget can be maintained and also used for bid comparisons for the project.

Wilsey Ham has instituted a policy for Quality Control where work is independently checked and reviewed by other members of our firm, to ensure a project that meets the clients needs in an effective and efficient manner. These reviews also include suggestions for value engineering for the project.
